a deep puddle formed from stretched black rubber,
counterweighted by concrete paving, s-hooks and chain,
interlinked pvc cushions,
steel and leather swings,
quilted black rugs.

These items made a topography that formed the ground for a live installation by SERAFINE1369. The environment was activated by the performance, lighting, sound design, the water and the audience’s engagement.

a gathered silken screen,
draped over kee-clamp frame,
black quilted rugs,
moon gazing chairs,
acupunture clinic equipment.

In an installastion by the artist SERAFINE1369, these items formed the set for a community acupuncture clinic held in the atrium of Gropius Bau,
and afterwards the scenography was reset for a listening space. These interventions were part of the the program YOYI! care repair heal.

The black folds of the screen resemble bat wings, whaleskin, wetness, rock, lava and more.

For this project soft tissue studio developed a padded quilt that can be used as a weighted blanket, a mat, a furniture cover, a cave, a bean bag and more, it is called a rock cover.

the outer textile is printed and pleated bamboo fabric,
handsewn to a power mesh undersuit,
the under skin is hand painted in green - vibrant like fresh young bark breaking through the fissures of old growth.

The print is derived from photos of the 200 year old plane tree whom lives in Coram’s Fields, London. The tree’s skin ranges from shaggy dry bark to smooth shiny green patches and these costumes echo that contrast.
The exhibition Rooted Beings described the intelligence of plants, and the treesuits were designed to embody the plane tree. One version of the treesuit was displayed at Wellcome Collection as part of the exhibition, later there was a performance of 5 treesuits in Mallet Gardens.
